Martin Röhrich

Martin Röhrich works for a private engineering and R&D company and is also a researcher at the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology at Mendel University in Brno, Czech Republic. His teaching and research activities focus on occupational health and safety, human factors engineering and ergonomics, human-centred design and the use of digital technologies to improve safety, health protection and prevention in forestry and other high-risk and demanding work activities and environments. He holds degrees from Brno University of Technology and the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport at Charles University. He has further developed his expertise in health, occupational health and safety, human factors and ergonomics, digital technologies, biofeedback, neuroscience, body diagnostics and rehabilitation. He has been involved in many projects using advanced digital technologies such as motion capture, digital human modelling, neurofeedback, human robotics, augmented and extended reality, including projects for the National HSE Research Institute. He is active in national and international occupational safety and ergonomics bodies. He is a member of networks connected with the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work and the OKAG committee. His research and professional interests include health, safety and movement prevention, including S.T.F. (Slips, Trips and Falls) prevention, machinery and human safety, human factors engineering, human-centred technologies in forestry, safe forest operations, physical and cognitive workload, resilience, climate-change impacts on workers’ health and safety, digital technologies in prevention and safety, and digital human modelling.
